Smit<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alex Smith bevond zich in een kleine en ondernemende reclamebureauomgeving waarin idee\u00ebn vrijelijk konden worden gedeeld. Veel bureaus hadden wel een strategiefunctie, maar zijn reclamebureau niet. Na verloop van tijd kreeg Alex er lucht van dat grotere bureaus aan strategie deden: een rationalisatie van het campagnewerk dat ze deden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alex stelde de baas voor om een strategieafdeling op te richten en dat hij die zou kunnen leiden. Hij accepteerde het idee, en al snel leidde Alex de strategieafdeling en verzon het gaandeweg, aangezien hij geen voorafgaande ervaring of opleiding in strategie had.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het werd echter duidelijk dat wat hij deed werkte, aangezien de maatstaf van de &#039;winstverhouding&#039; voor hun pitches enorm verbeterde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hij merkte dat er soms een &#039;geweldige klant&#039; langskwam waarbij heel weinig &#039;bedrog&#039; of creatieve inbreng nodig was om hun producten te verkopen, omdat ze al uitstekend waren in wat ze deden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alex bedacht dat het cool zou zijn om de bedrijven met meer gebreken te helpen meer te gaan lijken op de bedrijven die precies wisten wat ze deden. Hij ontwikkelde zijn theorie\u00ebn over wat grote bedrijven deden om zich te onderscheiden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Het pijnpunt<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Terwijl u strategiewerk verkoopt, leert u dat de meeste bedrijven geen strategie hebben. Ze hebben geen plan omdat het niet eens in hun gedachten opkomt \u2013 ze weten niet wat ze niet weten. Dat betekent dat het ingewikkeld is als je strategiewerk verkoopt, omdat niemand ernaar winkelt. Over het algemeen verkoopt u iets dat niemand wil, omdat niemand weet dat het in hun bedrijf ontbreekt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alex&#039; marketing voor zijn bedrijf,<a href=\"https:\/\/basicarts.org\/\"> <strong>Basiskunsten<\/strong>,<\/a> is daarom zeer leerzaam, omdat maar heel weinig bedrijven begrijpen wat strategie is. Zijn eenvoudige maar vermakelijke en verhelderende LinkedIn-posts illustreren zijn inspanningen om de strategie te demystificeren en hoe bedrijven kunnen stoppen met concurreren en hun unieke pad kunnen cre\u00ebren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wat is <a href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/1996\/11\/what-is-strategy\">strategie?<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Als thought leader bedenk je volgens Alex niet wat strategie is, en ook niet hoe je dat moet doen. Hij is het eens met de definitie van strategie van Harvard Business Review: &#039;Betekenisvolle verschillen met de concurrentie die je kunt behouden.&#039; Het is een statisch en onveranderlijk iets. Het gaat er echter om hoe je het begrijpt en ermee omgaat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Om de een of andere reden hebben bedrijven met een omzet van minder dan bijvoorbeeld $500 miljoen geen strategie, omdat zij de strategiebenadering van grote organisaties interpreteren als puur managementtheorie met weinig tot geen praktische implicaties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Als je het je niet kunt veroorloven bedrijven als McKinsey in te huren, die een bepaalde manier van denken rond strategie volgen, is het alternatief voor dat denken helemaal niet nadenken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alex gebruikte het volgende voorbeeld om het concept te illustreren: &#039;Je bent \u00f3f Shell die formeel strategiewerk doet, \u00f3f je bent een ander bedrijf dat helemaal niets doet.&#039;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zijn werk geeft antwoord op de vraag: Hoe kunnen we erover praten en het zo doen dat je niet in het \u2018Harvard- of Mckinsey-universum\u2019 hoeft te zijn om het spel te spelen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ten eerste komt het erop aan hoe je het verwoordt: erover praten op een manier die gemakkelijk te begrijpen en plezierig is. De manier waarop Alex met mensen over strategie praat, is door te zeggen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je moet een manier vinden om iets te verkopen aan mensen die ze willen. Het moet ook iets zijn dat ze nergens anders kunnen krijgen, en dat is het raadsel dat moet worden opgelost. Als je dat raadsel oplost, verdien je automatisch geld en heb je het spel gewonnen. Door het op deze manier te verwoorden wordt het toegankelijker, en nu heb je iets tastbaars om aan te werken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wanneer je de democratische mogelijkheid opent om deze eenvoudig te verwoorden en ten tweede de mogelijkheid opent dat je op een informele en weinig middelenintensieve manier met strategie kunt omgaan, hebben kleinere bedrijven een onmiddellijke en uitvoerbare aanpak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>STRATEGIE ALS MOTIVATIEHULPMIDDEL<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alex noemt strategie een &#039;amateursport&#039;, omdat de grootste strategen uit de geschiedenis geen formele kwalificatie op het gebied van strategie hadden. Hij ziet de eerste verantwoordelijkheid van strategie als een motiverend instrument.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hoe slim een strategie ook is, zij is nutteloos als zij niet wordt uitgevoerd; daarom moet een plan de weg vrijmaken om te worden uitgevoerd door inspirerend, begrepen, opwindend te zijn en te worden gebruikt als een motiverend hulpmiddel. Veel weerstand tegen strategie komt doordat strategie saai is. Het feit dat een bepaalde strategie spannend is, geeft aan dat er een inzicht in zit dat zeer effectief kan zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naast dat strategie een motiverend instrument is, is het ook een leiderschapsinstrument. Daarom moet u er rekening mee houden hoe u de aanpak presenteert aan het publiek dat deze ontvangt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alex adviseert dat je strategie niet als een statement moet zien, maar eerder als een argument. Een strategiedocument moet het argument presenteren waarom we dit gaan doen. Op deze manier wordt het niet gepresenteerd als een uitvoerend bevel. In plaats daarvan pleit u voor een bepaalde strategie en ontrafelt u deze. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U kunt uw mensen gewoon bewapenen met het argument voor de strategie, in plaats van hen te vertellen wat het is en wat ze moeten doen. Door uw mensen te bewapenen met een argument voor een strategie, kunnen ze zich deze eigen maken. Zij kunnen het verhaal van de strategie bezitten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alex sloot het interview af met goed nieuws: een strategie is niet iets dat je hoeft te cre\u00ebren. In plaats daarvan is het een ontdekkingsproces dat altijd latent aanwezig is binnen het bedrijf.
