ann\u00e9es 1970, Intel a d\u00fb faire face \u00e0 un d\u00e9fi monumental qui a menac\u00e9 son existence m\u00eame. Autrefois pionnier dans l&#039;industrie des semi-conducteurs avec des innovations r\u00e9volutionnaires comme le premier microprocesseur, Intel s&#039;est retrouv\u00e9 d\u00e9pass\u00e9 par des concurrents f\u00e9roces comme Motorola et Zilog. Au milieu de cette intense pression, Andy Grove, alors pr\u00e9sident d&#039;Intel, a adopt\u00e9 une strat\u00e9gie r\u00e9volutionnaire appel\u00e9e Operation Crush. Cette strat\u00e9gie, s&#039;appuyant sur le nouveau cadre d&#039;objectifs et de r\u00e9sultats cl\u00e9s (OKR), visait \u00e0 r\u00e9aligner l&#039;ensemble des efforts de l&#039;entreprise pour reconqu\u00e9rir le leadership du march\u00e9. En 1971, Intel avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 chang\u00e9 le paysage technologique avec le d\u00e9veloppement du premier microprocesseur au monde, l&#039;Intel 4004. Cette innovation a pos\u00e9 les bases de la r\u00e9volution de l&#039;informatique personnelle que des sommit\u00e9s comme Bill Gates et Paul Allen allaient plus tard mener. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intel.com\/content\/www\/us\/en\/homepage.html\">Intel<\/a> Ses premiers succ\u00e8s dans le domaine des microprocesseurs ont \u00e9tabli sa r\u00e9putation de pionnier de l&#039;industrie et l&#039;ont positionn\u00e9 favorablement pour sa croissance future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cependant, le succ\u00e8s dans le secteur technologique est notoirement \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re. Au milieu et \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1970, les premiers pas d&#039;Intel dans le domaine des microprocesseurs se heurt\u00e8rent \u00e0 de s\u00e9rieux d\u00e9fis. Des concurrents comme Motorola et Zilog avaient lanc\u00e9 des microprocesseurs plus rapides, plus efficaces et plus conviviaux, mena\u00e7ant la domination d&#039;Intel sur le march\u00e9. Les microprocesseurs Motorola 6800 et Zilog Z80 gagn\u00e8rent une part de march\u00e9 substantielle et forc\u00e8rent Intel \u00e0 adopter une position d\u00e9fensive. Alors que les ventes diminuaient et que la menace concurrentielle devenait plus grande, Intel avait besoin d&#039;une nouvelle strat\u00e9gie pour reprendre son leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L\u2019\u00e9mergence de la concurrence et la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019une nouvelle strat\u00e9gie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La fin des ann\u00e9es 1970 marque le tournant de la d\u00e9cennie pour Intel. Les progr\u00e8s rapides r\u00e9alis\u00e9s par Motorola et Zilog dans le domaine des microprocesseurs posent de s\u00e9rieux risques. Les deux soci\u00e9t\u00e9s ont perfectionn\u00e9 leurs produits pour offrir des performances et une efficacit\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieures, ce qui a bien r\u00e9sonn\u00e9 aupr\u00e8s du march\u00e9 croissant des ordinateurs personnels. Le Z80 de Zilog, par exemple, est devenu extr\u00eamement populaire en raison de son prix abordable et de ses performances robustes. De m\u00eame, la s\u00e9rie de microprocesseurs 6800 de Motorola est devenue le choix des principaux fabricants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les d\u00e9fis d&#039;Intel furent cristallis\u00e9s par une communication cruciale du directeur des ventes de district Don Buckout \u00e0 la fin de 1979. Ses observations r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e8rent l&#039;\u00e9tat pr\u00e9caire de la position d&#039;Intel sur le march\u00e9 et pr\u00e9disaient un avenir encore plus difficile si aucune mesure imm\u00e9diate n&#039;\u00e9tait prise. L&#039;alarme de Buckout galvanisa la haute direction d&#039;Intel, soulignant le besoin urgent d&#039;une refonte strat\u00e9gique. Reconnaissant que Motorola \u00e9tait leur principal concurrent, l&#039;\u00e9quipe de direction d&#039;Intel se r\u00e9unit pour former un groupe de travail d\u00e9di\u00e9 visant \u00e0 contrer cette menace existentielle. Le r\u00e9sultat de cette r\u00e9union \u00e0 enjeux \u00e9lev\u00e9s a conduit \u00e0 la naissance d&#039;une initiative cruciale judicieusement nomm\u00e9e \u00ab Operation Crush \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Op\u00e9ration Crush : strat\u00e9gie, ex\u00e9cution et leadership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/timeline.intel.com\/1979\/operation-crush\">Op\u00e9ration \u00c9crasement<\/a> L&#039;objectif de cette strat\u00e9gie \u00e9tait de neutraliser la menace concurrentielle pos\u00e9e par Motorola et de redonner \u00e0 Intel sa position de leader sur le march\u00e9 des microprocesseurs. Au c\u0153ur de cette strat\u00e9gie se trouvait la vision d&#039;Andy Grove de recentrer l&#039;attention de l&#039;entreprise sur un objectif unique et unifi\u00e9 : battre Motorola dans le segment des microprocesseurs 16 bits. Le style de leadership de Grove, caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par une communication directe et une concentration in\u00e9branlable sur la r\u00e9solution des probl\u00e8mes, a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le crucial dans la mobilisation des employ\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La mise en \u0153uvre de l&#039;op\u00e9ration Crush a n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 la mobilisation de tous les services d&#039;Intel pour atteindre des objectifs op\u00e9rationnels pr\u00e9cis. La strat\u00e9gie s&#039;est \u00e9tendue \u00e0 l&#039;offre d&#039;un support client exceptionnel, \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation d&#039;une documentation technique compl\u00e8te et \u00e0 la facilitation de l&#039;int\u00e9gration pour les fabricants. Il comprend deux \u00e9l\u00e9ments : les objectifs, qui signifient ce qu&#039;une organisation souhaite atteindre, et les r\u00e9sultats cl\u00e9s, qui sont les \u00e9tapes mesurables qui signifient la r\u00e9alisation de chaque objectif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sous la direction d&#039;Andy Grove, les OKR ont jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le d\u00e9terminant dans la red\u00e9finition des priorit\u00e9s d&#039;entreprise d&#039;Intel.
